My Story

After surgery for a cancerous lung tumour in Oct 2017 I needed to get fit again. I was encouraged to ride an exercise bike in hospital at 2 days post-op, but banned from road bikes for minimum 6 weeks. I'm cycling #My75Miles challenges to raise funds for the Fire Fighters Charity. I can ride for over an hour now without after effects. FFC's Jubilee House helped my wife Jenny to walk again after her back surgery. We had great times in our home county of West Yorkshire, where I served for nearly 20 years. I am 64+ and lost contact with everyone I served with. I lost several firefighter friends to cancers, more since moving away. Our dedicated UK Fire Services always respond swiftly to calls for help. You can helpme support them by donating to #My75Miles challenges. I am back on the road, on the bike & on my way back to health and fitness. Please feel free to spread the word and this page address to any potential donors. Every £1 counts - Its easy, you may use the green 'Donate' button. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it will help to fund many essential services and rehabilitation programmes for fire fighters & their families we know how good they are.
